INSPIRATIONS FOR THE WEEK OF A SEPT. 21 – SEPT 27, 2008

Take a look at life. What is it that you are truly seeking? Then find a way to obtain it, without using others or being deceitful. We must all take off the rose colored glasses and be honest with ourselves this week. We must be brave enough and wise enough to not use manipulation to achieve our goals this week. If we present life with honesty, and are sincere in our actions, how can we not be successful? If we design the right plan, and play the game fairly without cheating then everything good will fall into place, as it should be, bringing with it happiness and contentment and our desires are surely to be met. But if we cheat in the game of life by lying, manipulating, deceiving, well then who really becomes the looser? We end up only cheating ourselves and we’ll have to replay it again until we get it right!

This Weeks Prayer: Lead by Rev. Sharon L. Jones
Dear God:
This week, give us the strength and the courage to face things head on. Guide us in our efforts to find happiness, love and prosperity and bring it to us easily, without struggle. Help us to realize things or situations that do not serve our best interests and clear a path so that we may walk with our heads held high and work hard and honestly to obtain our goals, your goals that you have set for us. Help guide our subconscious and make us aware of when we’re not being fair to ourselves or others, as sometimes we are unaware and we do things out of habit. Hold our hand, guide our tongues, protect our hearts and help us break our old habits. We do not mean to be dishonest, or manipulative, or cruel towards either ourselves or others. But sometimes we do these things, even without being aware of it. So please God help us to realize there is a better way; a kinder way. Let us treat ourselves and others with respect, honesty and love. Let us respect everyone as if they were our family and help us to love unconditionally despite our own judgments, wants or needs. And most of all let us find ourselves again. Let us love ourselves as you love us. And if we falter or make mistakes or hurt someone or ourselves along the way, please forgive us and let us have insight as to how NOT to make these mistakes again. And let us have the courage to say I’m sorry, when we realize we’ve made mistakes. Let us think about and understand the consequences of our actions “Before” we take action, so we can make the right choices for our lives. As you know we are still learning. And we are putting our trust in you God to light the way. So thank you God for listening to our prayer. For assisting us on our journey this week. And for forgiving us time and time again. But most of all God…Thank you for loving us unconditionally despite all our faults. We love you and we are grateful you are in our lives. And God, one more thing remember when we get mad at you, or don’t understand situations in our lives and would like to question or blame you. (As I know ALL of us have, at one point in our lives), Know that we are still human and we have yet to obtain all the answers. So, please know it really wasn’t meant towards YOU! But thank you for letting us use you for our sounding board and for being wise enough and kind enough to know the difference and love us anyway! ……..Amen We’ll get there God, don’t worry. I have faith in us! Love you…Amen

Tarot Card for the Week: Seven of Swords
Here you see a man carrying five swords yet leaving two behind. He has not forgotten these two. But left them upright standing in the ground as if to say ha, ha I was here! And hoping he won’t get caught. This card represents, Deceit, failure or feelings of you being able to fool someone. Somewhere or somehow you are deceiving someone but most importantly, look at how you may be deceiving yourself. This card also represents taking advantage of another person or situation. Or trying to have one up on another! Don’t fool yourself. You’re plans will probably fail and may even backfire! It may be time to breakdown and be honest with both yourself and others. So therefore re-design your plan and be honest and sincere in your efforts, so you can be successful with others and yourself!

Wisdom From the Bhagavad-Gita: This Week's Quote (Chapter 2- 44-46)
In the minds of those who are too attached to sense enjoyment and material opulence, and who are bewildered by such things, the resolute for determination for devotional service to the Lord, does not take place.

The Vedas mainly deal with the subject of the three modes of material nature. Rise above these modes. O Arjuna. Be transcendental to all of them. Be free from all dualities and from all anxieties for gain and safety, and be established in the self.

All purposes that are served by the small pond can at once be served by the great reservoirs of water. Similarly, all the purposes of he Vedas can be served to one who knows the purpose behind them.

Crystal for the Week: Magnesite (Howlite)
This stone is an excellent stone for visualization. It opens the heart chakra allowing you to feel heartfelt love along with assisting you to love yourself. It helps us to practice unconditional love, during times when people may seem difficult. It allows and helps you to appreciate others without wanting to change them and allowing them to be themselves, and their behavior or addictions will not interfere with the way you love them. This card also brings to the surface the realization of self-deceit and assists you with finding out why you do this to yourself and others and helps you clear away issues, so that you may be honest with yourself. It helps tame the ego, so that you can be in control instead of having your ego control you. It also brings calming effects and works wonderfully with the mind to stimulate ideas and assists with clearing away fears, intolerance and helps you to be less irritable with yourself and others. This stone also has a high level of magnesium and when placed appropriately or taken as a gem elixir can be used both internally and externally. Helps with pain for gallbladders and kidney stones, relieves cramping. It also helps to prevent high cholesterol and heart disease. And may also act as a muscle relaxer. This stone heals a wide variety of other ailments also. (Due to the high level of magnesium, the properties of this stone is used in many pharmaceutical medicines prescribed by doctors today).

Summary:
It looks like this week is about taking a reality check! Learning and not being afraid to be honest with others or ourselves. Sometimes we do these things sub-consciously and are not aware of how much damage it may cause to others or most importantly to ourselves. Usually we do this out of fear or want of something. So really, really take a good look at all areas in your life and see where honesty is needed. This week if there are situations in your life, where you are not telling the whole truth or you think you are getting away with something, when you know it’s not right. Double-check your motives. If they are not of good intention and you know either you or someone else may get hurt because of your actions this week, or because your plan backfires and may harm you in the long run. STOP! You have the ability to change it; to correct it. So that your week will be filled with self-respect and understanding that you do not have to deceive, manipulate or take advantage of situations or others in order to get what you want from life, as that will only bring you guilt, resentment, hardship, etc. once you’ve been discovered. So be kind to yourself and others and by doing that, you will obtain what you really want by showing integrity, respect and honesty towards others and yourself. When you do this then all the right things will fall into place for you without manipulation of any kind. And you'll be able to have it all. All that will positivily assist you with your journey.
