As summer comes to a close and schedules are changing, due to school beginning for the fall season throughout our country. This week’s blog is dedicated to all of the many people and families whose lives will be rearranged, re-organized, redesigned in order to help our nation educate our young! From educators and state employees, to bus drivers and students. To car-pool Moms and Dads and to caregivers and after-school care program workers. For the Lunch attendants and Janitors and all the people in between who do so much for our children. We Thank You!
Inspiration for this Week: by S.L. Jones - © 08-24-08
Go out into the world this week and know it is a new and exciting day! Everyday! Put a smile on someone else’s face! Which in turn will leave a smile in your own heart! Speak kind words, even when you get frustrated; hold your tongue and try to turn it into a positive experience. By being positive, kind, loving, calm, grateful and respectful of others hearts and needs, you can change the world this week! You could change someone’s life forever! Hmmmm imagine that! So when your child is driving you crazy, or the students in your classroom are having disagreements, try to understand why? And then help turn it into a good experience for both of you! This goes for kids too! Adults are allowed to have bad days too and you must do your part to understand them! Remember we are all students and teachers from the very young to the very old. So do not get caught up in the “Name Game” i.e. I’m the “parent”, that’s why! Or I am your “teacher”. I demand respect! Titles do not matter in the game of life! Remember that! It’s only good on your paycheck!!!! I have learned many wonderful things from preschooler’s, which has helped me on my journey! So please when it comes to our youth, listen to them, acknowledge them, learn from them and assist them. Be humble with each other, as we all have so much to learn from one another, no matter what age we are! So go with peace and excitement and pass it on to the world…… And have a Great, exciting week!
DID YOU KNOW?: Studies show that a child from pre-school age to 7th grade, hears 139 negative remarks made to, towards, or about them everyday, coming from everywhere; Parents, school, teachers, friends, other family members, etc. WOW! Studies also showed they only hear 32 positive remarks everyday! WOW! How sad is that? And we wonder why our youth is so angry…. Hey people, wake up! I guess we’re teaching them ourselves! So get on board and let’s turn that around, so they can hear 139 positive things and hopefully less than 32 negative things a day. We can’t blame our youth, if we can’t change ourselves, our reactions, our tongues! Think about it and together we can change a nation, bringing back love, compassion and caring! Have a great week!
This Weeks Prayer: Lead by Rev. Sharon L. Jones
Dear God:
First…Thank you! Thank you for all of your blessings! Thank you for the excitement and laughter of children. Young and old! Let us all remember God, that we are all your children, not just a chosen few, but all of us… And that you love us all equally; maybe in different ways, as we all learn in different ways, and through you and the experiences you present to us on an individual level, is your way of teaching us and loving us. Let us not be afraid to accept the experiences around us and know that it is for our benefit, in the long run to get through them, understand them, accept them and learn from them. Let us be strong enough to ask for help, if we need it. To forgive others and ourselves if we’ve been hurt by them. To dance and sing, when we have learned to understand them. And be grateful and thankful that we were able to work through, learn from them and conquer them; so that we can move on to the next class, the next lesson of life to make our way home to you!
And God, thank you so much for treating me as an individual and respecting my beliefs and forgiving me when I do not understand or learn as quickly as others. And thank you for your diligent patience with us. But most of all God, thank you for never giving up on us, even when we want to give up on ourselves. Thank you for not calling us stupid or unworthy, thank you for re-presenting situations over and over again until we finally get it! Wow you are quite a teacher! So God, please know we appreciate, and acknowledge your being too! And thank you for always being proud of us despite, what we think in ourselves as weakness, fault, stupidity, unworthiness, etc. And let us understand that those words we tell ourselves are “man-made” not GOD made. For “You” see only perfection in us and as our Father, you have the understanding, strength and knowledge to know we are all just children, still trying to learn. So again God, Thank You….We are so grateful that you love us the way you do! And God as you watch all of your children here on earth we hope that you too, will have a wonderful exciting week, sharing with us your glories. Please accept our humble thanks of gratitude and love. We love you God! Amen.
(The following quotes/interpretations are pulled each week “randomly”, I do not personally pick & choose. I do this by asking (My) God what page, card, crystal, etc. he would like to represent wisdom to assist people on their journeys for the week, I then flip, turn, pull, etc. randomly and the following are the results to assist you through the week.)
Tarot Card for the Week: The Hierophant (I love this when it all falls together!)
This card represents both the student and the teacher (how cool is that!) He is wise enough and experienced enough to know when to listen to new ideas or when to teach them. This week you may be compelled to either follow the rules or make some of your own, which will better serve mankind. This is not a selfish card, but a card that offers compassion and strength, for others and oneself . To guide and assist others. It brings with it a spiritual quality, knowing that by quieting yourself you will be able to find the answers you seek and to get cooperation and understanding from others. You know in your heart right from wrong (although you may fight with it at times) but you know and understand that you must follow your own spiritual directions in order to better your life and serve others. This week others around you will listen to your guidance as you have a need to share and be heard by your fellowman. But you also have the wisdom to know and accept others opinion that may assist you on your journey. Also this week someone may need your assistance, by offering them your compassion, forgiveness, patience, and knowledge. So this week be compassionate, assist others, teach what you know, learn as you go and love and honor yourself and others. Have a great week!
Wisdom From the Bhagavad-Gita: This Week's Quote (Chapter 3- 5-7)
All men forced to act helplessly, according to the impulses born of the modes of material nature; therefore no one can refrain from doing something, not even for a moment.
One who restrains the senses and organs of action, but whose mind dwells on sense objects, certainly deludes himself and is called a pretender.
On the other hand, he who controls the senses by the mind and engages his active organs in works of devotion, without attachment, is by far superior.
Bible Quote: Micah 5:4-5
He will stand and shepard his flock in the strength of the Lord, in the majesty of the name of the Lord, his God. And they will live securely, for then his greatness will reach to the ends of the earth. And he will be their peace.
Crystal for the Week: SARDONYX
Sardonyx is a stone that offers strength and opens your mind for knowledge. It is good for making new friends, and colleagues. And heals old relationships bringing happiness and stability to marriages, friendships and partnerships, where once there was turmoil. It promotes living a virtuous life along with being able to expand the mind on a spiritual level. If you feel you have lost your integrity, this stone helps you to get back on track and allows you to discover and learn new ways to strengthen your character. It offers willpower and gives you the stamina and self-control you may need to accomplish great things in your life. It aids with perception and processing of information, so that you will have a better understanding of your existence.
So this week - Be patient with others and yourself, be grateful for the things you learn. Assist and teach others as you walk this week by being an example. And pass love, smiles, kind words to everyone along the way…By doing this we can change the world! Have a great day! Blessings to all!
